Product Retirement Program
Retired Product At a given point in the life cycle of a product, ProSoft Technology will place that product in the Product Retirement Program. When a product has entered the Product Retirement Program, it initially enters a two-year Final Sales Period followed by a four-year Extended Support Period:
2 Year Final Sales Period
- After a product has been designated as retired product, our intention is to continue to take orders and manufacture it for a period of two years, assuming parts and components remain available.
- It is our intention to provide a migration plan to our customers for every product which enters the Retirement Program.
4 Year Extended Support Period
- After the Final Sales Period, product support will continue for another four years until the product reaches its termination date.
- During those four years, ProSoft Technology intends to keep enough components to build and repair products in small quantities, based on existing customer orders and parts availability.
The Product Retired Announcement date marks the end of the six-year Product Retirement period. At this point in the process, the product is considered officially retired. It is also the last day ProSoft Technology will accept repair and support service requests for a retired product. To offer the maximum possible customer service, ProSoft Technology may continue to repair retired products after the Product Retired date, as long as an inventory of components remains available.
The retirement time frame allows a customer:
- To buy spares
- To plan for a product transition project
- To schedule and budget for updates
- To migrate to newer products
- To redesign and recertify the solution
